Welcome, and thank you for your interest in applying to become a CROP Ready 4 Life (R4L) fellow! Please note that you must have an email address that you have access to in order to complete this application.
Only the applicant should complete the online application - we will not consider applications completed by a third party. If you are assisting someone, please print our paper application and have them follow the instructions for submission.
At the end of the application, you will be asked to provide an electronic signature attesting that you, the applicant, independently completed the application.
If you are eligible to apply, the application is long and will take an hour or more. If you cannot complete the full application once you move beyond the eligibility section, you can save your work and return later to finish. Be sure to check your spam for the email with the link to pick up where you left off should you need to complete the application across multiple sessions.
Please read the below information in full and review the eligibility requirements and application questions before proceeding so that you have all the information required to complete the application in one go if you are eligible.
You must meet all eligibility criteria and provide a Legal Status Summary (LSS) in order to submit the application.
Part 1 - Eligibility
This section ensures that you know whether or not your application can be considered within the current program guidelines. CROP will independently confirm eligibility before reviewing a full application.
If you are not eligible for R4L, you may still indicate your interest in receiving information from CROP and we will contact you if our eligibility criteria changes and/or send you information about other programs for which you may be eligible.
Part 2 - Education, Self-Help, Leadership and Program AlignmentThis information helps CROP understand some of your transformational journey, socialization, work history, and personal goals to better support your growth and development.
Part 3 - Justice System Involvement
This section provides the admissions team a comprehensive understanding of the ways in which you've been involved and impacted by the justice system.
Part 4 - Current or Anticipated Living, Family and/or Support Network Situation
Information about your actual/expected living situation as well as who you expect to support or be supported by during your reentry journey.
Part 5 - Demographic Information

Part 6 - Research Agreement
CROP has an ongoing agreement with the State of CA to support reentry research. You will be asked to review and agree or decline to allow your anonymized information to be used.
Part 7 - LSS Upload and Certification
You must upload a digital copy (photo or pdf) of your LSS and certify that all information in the application is correct to your knowledge and was entered by you (the applicant). If you do not have a digital version of your LSS available, please do not proceed until you have it available.
If you have any questions, please send an email to admissions@croporg.org. We will be pleased to assist you.
